Rag doll upgrade. I find it difficult to make underwear for my jointed dolls - the joints get in the way! So, I decided to add built-in underwear. I took the body design and added an applique shape with a lacy stitch for the edges. When I do it again, I will make the arm and leg holes bigger so that the edge is visible.

May I make a suggestion? Try making underwear like a one piece with velcro on the sides for closures. That is how I made mine and it worked very well..no elastic to get caught in the legs. I love your doll, very nice.

The armholes are as well, but they need to be bigger to be seen!

That's cute. I can see how it would be hard to make removable underwear unless they were bloomers.

I believe Sue knitted a hair cap with fun fur. Its easy to do if you know how to crochet or knit.
by spendlove 22 Feb 2012
The hair is just a cap knitted or crocheted with eyelash yarn. This one is crochet.

But how, Sue? Do you do a circle?
by spendlove 13 Mar 2012
Star with a ring of chains and crochet into it in a spiral, adding a few stitches on each round.
by spendlove 13 Mar 2012
Start even. Actually it is easier to knit them!

What a great idea! Now, even if she isn't dressed she won't be naked! I remember seeing lots of naked baby dolls, even Barbie dolls all around my daughter's room. I love her! Your dollies are adorable! Did the Cuties know you sent two of them to go with the quilts?!?!? Thanks, Sue!
