We have a planned power cut tomorrow from 5.00am to 10.00pm. That is a long time. NO SEWING, no computer just wondering what I will do. I think I will spend the time cutting out various things and perhaps sorting some of my embroidery/ sewing things. LOL. Sarah.

That's the way Sarah - plan other things to keep you on track. I like the idea of getting your sewing things in order. Good luck with it all. Love Chris

You will be amazed at what all you can get done without electricity. Don't know if your on city water but we are on well water and I usually fill up the bath tub and fill all the spaces in the freezer and refrigerator with containers of water to help keep it cold.

I think I would go crazy without power for 5 hours. Good luck, hopefully the sorting and cutting will keep you busy. I'd probably end up crocheting by candle light. :)

Good grief!!! That's a long time to be without power!! We often have outages (not planned!!!) but they only last for 3-4 hours at a time!! Hang in there Sarah, you can get a LOT of cutting done and probably tidy up your whole sewing dept!! :)

How's about meeting friends or go shop some nice stuff (not only sewing/embroidery ;o). Have a cup of coffee/ tea with a someone you like or just have a yummy ice-cream. Cinema? Library? Long shopping-tour through some little shops/ boutiques (that's something I really miss; never have time for that with my kids).
Greetings, Bettina

Bettina it will be Sunday and this is SA!!!
No cinema with an air condition? Or a museum (they have to cool down ;o)? Make a nice trip with lunch like your hubby suggested. Good idea :o) Maybe you have a possibility to go swimming somewhere (a lake or seaside)?

Thank you for all your sympathetic answers. We are sometimes off all day but this is the longest power cut we have ever had. There are major new cables to go in. Because we have known about it for some time I have let the freezer run right down, also there is little in the fridge. We have a little gas burner and some gas lights for the evening. I just hope it will not be too hot as we will not be able to use any fans. DH has suggested we drive out into the 'sticks' and have lunch. Probably a good idea. * 4 all you wonderful Cuties. Sarah.

If it's a planned one; at least you can prepare youself with things you were delaying anyway. Unplanned that's more difficult. I once had this while preparing dinner. I only needed to back the flesh.. and suddenly no power (I cook electric) ..so in the beginning you want but after a while.. we went bying french fries.
