Can someone tell me how long it usually takes a small item in a padded envelope to get from England to Australia by first class royal mail?Mine was posted 24th Jan & it arrived today 27th Feb ,1 day short of 5 weeks which I think is extremely s l o w.

Does seem a bit slow but at least it arrived safely. I find that most parcels I have posted from South Africa never get to their destination at all - which is heart breaking. Sarah.

Can you insure them ?
Sometimes no matter the value of money the Items are more precious because they are hand made. It is very sad :(
Thank you both but if I send t shirts or other embroidery it is really not worth the money insuring them. Sarah.

Dumb question probably, but was it sent by airmail?
It takes about 5 days to get to Germany from Australia,and vice versa, so I figure it would take about the same time to get to England.

Again I think the 5 days could depend if it caught the right mail. I have a friend in Stuttgart sent a Christmas card 2 weeks before Christmas and I got it 2 weeks into January.

Going the other way from oz to england by airmail takes about 5-7 days and that is at christmas time. Hugs Sally

I have posted to Australia from the UK, should take at the most one week unless you post it cheaper by boat and it takes ages, think about 3 months if I remember well lol. Now rather send money as by the time you bought it and paid postage it makes all extremely expensive.Postage from spain I might add is even more expensive.

Got a email from the lady who posted it, saying it was typical for the Royal Mail because they had a monopoly.Hate to be in her shoes ,doing business with such a slow mail carrier
