I have a love for English china and have collected various pieces over the years. I now find that they just collect dust and I am sure that my children and their children will not want them. So these days I will just stick to embroidery designs. Sarah

Didn't think anyone else would collect mice, but I have done so for over 30 years - requirements are small & cute, have over 150 for the Christmas tree alone, plus hundreds more for each of the seasons. Use to be fabric but this past year have given away 30 years of collecting to any charity willing to make something out of it. I found that as a fabricholic that whenever you decide to make something you go buy the fabric not use the stuff in the wonderful stash.

by bowlds 01 Mar 2012
Well, I used them more before I started working 40 hours a week and we had the Internet to look stuff up. I do love to curl up with a cookbook though. I like the ones that are used with lost of scribbling in them.

I like them too, especially if they are from all over the country, that way the recipes are different. Cookbook collecting sounds weird, but cookbooks are pretty neat!

my collecting has to do with sewing and embroidery, I collect fabric, zippers, buttons, lace, threads, beads and scissors. I probably have about a dozen siccors. I quit counting the number of scissors I have. I don't have to dust them and I'm with a lot of other folks, hate to dust.

Postcards of around where I live, orchids, all the usual sewing stuff and so one. For my recent birthday my husband gave me a silver fruit knife with a mother of pearl handle. I have gained a number of these from my late mother. (I think he is really collecting them) We also have quite a lot of Japanese stuff/junk in the house too. I am also collecting/storing loads of my older daughters stuff as she has no room for keeping it...

Material and patterns, I am trying very hard this year to not buy any material. So far I have succeeded in buying less, lol. Well at least I'm closer to my goal of not buying any, but so far I can't seem to walk away from a pretty piece of fabric begging me to take it home. Such a shame since I have somewhere around 30 plus bins of fabric aready. Yes I am addicted to collecting fabric, a true fabraholic, lol!

I must be a real hoarder. I collect everything you all do, plus wicker baskets, all sizes and shapes. I have a limited amount of pantry space, so I display my food jars in a decorative fashion in the baskets in a bookcase. They actually look very tastefully done. I also collect plants in every size, shape and form. I have over 200 of them. My sewing room has wall to wall, floor to ceiling displays of sewing/embroidery notions, arts and crafts display. I have a collection of 34 scissors too. WOW!!! I'm having a big yard sale this spring.
Enjoy your collections ladies. Rachel

I guess this will be given to my granddaughters some day. The pattern is an old one and I love the old Victorian unusual pieces. Kay

Thimbles, and books (real books where you turn the pages! Ha)

I used to collect Hallmark Christmas Ornaments but stopped two years ago when I realized I don't have any more room....so now I'm giving them to our kids and grandkids and selling some.

I have the complete set of Celebration and Fashion Barbies - all on a huge wreath, with white satin ribbon trimmed in gold woven thoughout.

I have all the Wizard of OZ ornaments on a tree, complete with a yellow brick road, rainbow, and blue birds above the rainbow!
