Northern Minnesota got lucky today. They predicted 7-13 inches of snow for us last night and today. Most of it missed us, we only got about 1 inch unless more comes later this evening. How much did you other Minnesota "cuties" further south get?

My husband's family homesteaded on the North Shore, between Tofte and Little Marais. Are you anywhere near there? We have a tiny bit of property there. It is soooo beautiful up there!

You're up the shore from us, but you are right, some of the most beautiful areas of northern MN are up the North Shore. Had a place between Two Harbors and Ely until last summer, then had to let it go, heart breaking. Let me know if you ever come this way.
I know that area pretty well - we went to the shops in Two Harbors, and isn't there a co-op in Ely? That's a little town!
Since my husband's aunt and uncle have passed away, we don't have much reason to go - makes me sad....

Did you see Emb Lib has the Split Rock lighthouse design? I think they also have the red one at Two Harbors. I LOVE Minnesota :-)

Duluth got 12", but I had drifts across the driveway near 3' of heavy wet snow, still snowing and more to come so they say. We knew it was too good to be true, winter was due to come sooner or later. And of course, like all things mechanical, when you need it - it doesn't want to work. Sewing machines when you're under the gun to get something done - snow blowers when you have 3' of snow to move.

The news tonight said Hinckley got 20 inches. We only got the one inch. That's fine with me.
((Hugs)) to all my fellow Minnesotan's. I'm West of the North Shore on the Iron Range, and home #2 is in Central MN.
