Anyone with an I-Pad ever tried to download embroidery designs with the Dolphin Browser or other browser with any success? Sewmom was gracious enough to ask her hubby who said it should work as I-Pads have same operating system as I-Phones...Don't have either yet..can anyone try it on the I-Pad and let us know if it works? Need a really good reason to buy an I-Pad and getting embroidery downloads would seal the deal for me...Thanks Cuties.

I tried to on my daughter in law's. They don't have flash player so I couldn't d/l. Later I talked to a salesman in Staples and he said the I-Pad used something else (can't rem. what) and others would eventually have to change their system as will be outdated.

Didn't know about the dolphin browser, so that might work OK. Will have to see this weekend when we go to DIL's.

Ok, I got permission to put the Dolphin Browser on his iPad as long as I took it off after I experimented. Yes, it works. No you do not have to enter your email along the way (there is a "skip" button on the top right). You do not have to allow push setting to download either. I found what I downloaded by touching the green arrow at the bottom right of the screen after I did the download.

I still haven't transferred the designs to the computer but I know it can be done from the iPhone because sewinhuggs did it.
My computer says I need to start AcitveSync to get the iPad or the iPhone connected to the computer so I can download. I will work on that later.
I have not tried any software with the iPad that might read and show me the design. So I can't check what I have downloaded until it's transferred to the computer.

We use an Ipad when we go on vacation. I use a drop box to save my designs. It worked just fine. I know that Apple sells some kind of adapter for inserting a thumbdrive which we have not purchased yet. Our browser is called Safari I believe. Best wishes with your decision.

Safari is the browser that comes with the iPad but I just double checked and it wil not download designs so you must have added another browser or some other technology for downloading.
Im interested about the thumb drive and I hadn't thought about a drop box.

Thanks, Sewmom, and thank you hubby too for allowing you to experiment with his I-Pad. I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "allow push setting to download", but I don't yet have an I-Phone or I-Pad. If the I-Pad will allow me to D/L my designs, I will have an excellent reason to buy one. Will you please keep your progress posted? Don't know what a drop box is either...sorry...or Active Sinc...sorry again...But, I will look forward to hearing more about your success...Thanks in advance for all your efforts...

Drop box is an account you can create . It's like having a closet in the "cloud". You can put files in it then you can access them from any computer with your passwords.

I need a reason to buy an I-Pad too...but it must be able the download designs when I'm traveling. Keep me posted too

OK guys. I downloaded the Dolphin Browser to my IPad2 and it does allow me to download a JEF file, although, I still do not know how to attach that file into an e mail so I can then download it on my computer. If anyone else has figured this out I would love to hear from you.

I don't think you can email it. You need to transfer the designs to your computer. More information is in another post. I will try to find it and link it here.
