One Tie Purse

This is my cute little purse made from a man's tie following quilter124's directions. She was very patient with my questions and guided me with my first project using quilting techniques. Thank you Dianne, hope you like it

So pretty with the embroidery on it. You did a wonderful job recycling the tie.

Certainly made it look a bit different. I don't think my husband recognised it.

OH,Bev, Like it...I love it...this is just beautiful. The strawberries give it a completely different look and your placements are right on...It will be hard for someone to see this and not ask questions... You did a fantastic job and I am very proud of your work.
Hope the flooding is not so bad now. You were a great student to guide and you did exceptional with long distant teaching...

Thank you so much for all your guidance Dianne, I am glad you approve. Things have settled down around here but some areas have a long cleanup ahead of them when the waters recede. Bev

Thank you. Sorry, there is no link to the directions, we had to send a PM to quilter124 and she very kindly sent them to us, and in my case did some long distant tuition, Bev.

Thank you Jan. This is a Project from quilter124, perhaps if you PM her she will send it to you too, but with all your quilting experience you won't have to bother her with dumb questions like I did (lol), Bev

wow this is just terrific, a silk purse without the silk price tag! My dh has a few old ties hanging (lol) around too. I would also like to learn how this is done

Thank you, you may not be able to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear but you can out of an old tie. Check out my answer to hightechgrammy

Thank you. The larger ones are from my Janome 200e and the smaller ones are part of the corner design, cropped and reduced. Bev

These look wonderful, a great way to use up unused ties that have some wonder fabrics.

That is what I thought when I first saw the project, we have some beautiful silk ties that have never been used. This was an old tie to practice on. Bev
