Didn't sell the one I made Sat night for the market on Sun. I don't care as I will give them to my owl collecting friends.

And they look so sweet & innocent! I'm sure they're sorry they broke your needles! :-) You did a great job on them.

They are great. Did you figure out why the needles broke?

by mi30kaja 13 Mar 2012
Yes. Zipper just a fraction too small and the needle won't go through metal.
by capoodle 13 Mar 2012
Thanks for that information. I have a box full of the metal ones so one should only use the plastic ones on the ITH projects.

These look very good. I break lots of needles myself on the burnt edges of dog lead webbing. Not fun.

Didn't break one tonight - just didn't feel like sewing so possibly not concentrating as I had another problem.

Thanks to you. This is the smallest size I can do on my machine - only because I wanted to use these free zips. I must have had 100 of 3 different sizes.

Great looking owls. I like how you used a different thread than the wings and body to make the difference stand out just a little more. Hint: get longer zippers then you won't be breaking your needles so much.

I am a little afraid to try these as I am sure I would break a needle or two. I have had enough problems with my machine at the moment and don't need to add any more. Good for you to keep tryng and succeeding. Shirley

Shirley, It is good to use your needles that are too blunt to use for lace.

I am going to have a go at one of these. Thanks
