Cuties need advice..purchased two little girl's polyester velvet dresses...anyone have any tips on embroidering on velvet? Don't think I will hoop..will use 505 spray possibly? What is best stabilizer? Thanks in advance for advice!

No, don't hoop as you don't want hoop burn. For the stabilizer, I'd use a soft cut-away and don't forget to use a wss topper to keep the threads from sinking in, same as with towels. Would love to see the dresses when completed.

Thanks Beverly! I am not fixing to sew on velvet but this is nice to know! I will copy this and put it in my sewing instructions file. To tell the truth, I have never embroidered on velvet before. Now I do not have to search for instructions if I ever do. Linda
