I purchased fleece from a different store, I made my first set of puppets, and find that the fleece is way to stretchy for finger puppets. The only thing I can think to do is fused peltex to the interior of at least the front. Any other suggestions? Thank you christine LLDS!

Is there any room to run a satin stitch or lock stitch around the exterior of the puppets, I don't know if that would help?

I guess I am not so concerned about the rolling rather the distortion of the design. I will make with felt and not have the problem.

I use felt for the finger puppets and fleece for the glove puppets.

I still think I would have to line the gloves.

Felt would be my fabric of choice.

Since you don't feel it's going to work well, try washing and drying it and see if it shrinks to a more sturdy fabric?

Already done. I am allergic to sizing so everything out of package has been washed.

You could iron on some very light weight interfacing..it will keep it from stretching and won't add much bulk..I do this sometimes with some terry or t-shirts.

Save the fleece for soft toys or glove puppets and use felt for the finger puppets!
When you use the fleece, watch the direction of the stretch very carefully. The main stretch needs to go from left to right - not top to bottom. If you make a stuffed toy with the stretch up and down it will be a very strange shape indeed!!

I really have to watch it with this brand. I know I did the frogs wrong. I will make more! They are so cute!

Possibly sweater fabric rather than polar fleece would work better. Some sweater fabric has very little stretch.
I'll be using acrylic felt for the finger puppets.
There are several different weights of felt e.g. soft, firm, thick, thin, printed, sparkly, and it can be bougtht in small A4 sized sheets or by the metre/yard.
