Does anyone know a good place to buy zippers for cheap. I want to make some in the hoop purses, and need a bunch of zippers. Thanks

If you are in the US, you can order from Home Sews. They have WONDERFUL prices & good zippers. Be sure to get the NON metal ones!! Here's their web site & you can also call for a catalog if you want. I've been ordering for over 40 yrs. from them. They do ship out of the country, but not sure what it costs. Canada, add an additional $6 to the regular shipping.

I think it is www.homesew.com if not www.newarkdress.com they are partnering companies. You can order from both companies on either site.

We us zip tape that is bought by the meter and then cut to the length needed and add the zip pull. Some have lovely charms attatched.
They do not have all colours like you would get if you match for dressmaking but navy, black, white and gray. They do come in diff grades of heavy duty or light.
Everyone who makes bags around here use them and the great thing is that you can put on two pulls in opp directions.

Hi Terri, if you have a local Thrift Shop or Opportunity Shop (Op Shop) try them. I bought a whole bag of them for $10.00 from the shop where I volunteer and they were really cheap. Any old clothing etc. too take out the zips and keep them for future reference. Love and blessings Chris

I get my zippers on a roll from Rochford Supply 25 yards on a roll and buy the pulls from them too the ship to your home. I can get about 100 or more purses made from one roll.
Picture 1 is how I sew the zippers in it has you doing it in the hoop but I think it is a waste of stabilizer so I do it this way.
Picture 2 is the assembly of the purses I do give them all away.
I get the snaps from eBay (who ever sales the most sets for cheap)
I hope this helps

I recently found Zip It on Etsy. They have tons of colors and sizes. All the way down to 4"! At 50 cents it's not a bad price either. Good luck with the hunt!

At our local wal-mart, a 12" zipper costs $1.47. Fifty cents apiece sounds terrific! I'm checking out zipit. Thanks!!!
