Oh NO I have done it again! I had promised myself not tro buy any more designs and the emb lib had lovely peg cozies for sale and I thought they would be real sellers for my charity sale, so instantly I bought them. Please help me to overcome this addiction!

ME, TOO!
After I got all my thousands of designs organized I thought I would not be collecting any more.....WRONG! Just had to have the 10 designs offered last Friday from emblib..... and got so many cute crafty birds!
I really must restrain myself... I'll never use all I have now!
OH WELL, LADIES, IT COULD BE SOMETHING WORSE! lol

I am sorry to say there is no cure. The only remedy is will power! You can make a contract with your buddy that you will not buy until she/he approves of the deal and your reasons for needing that design. More rationalization! Live Laugh Download Stitch!

Ladies, it is so glad to see I not the only addict, hehe. I say no more downloads and I end up downloading anyway. The only restraint I have is not to go to the sites. The sales are so tempting you always come off with something. Then If I have no money I really get discouraged so I stay off the computer for a few days. I don't think you can ever get too many designs, I don't care what others (non-embroiders) say.

Sorry, there is no cure for our addiction. Look at it this way. The designs don't take up any room, don't need to be dusted. They are there for use at any time that we need them. *4everyone.

No problem! Instead of buying such lovely design (or for some people - fabric), go out and have a few drinks (alcoholic) and realize you were doing great! You got designs you can use to bring yourself and someone else a little happiness for cheaper than if you had gone out for drinks! Woohoo! You actually saved money!lol

Can't be helped - this is a special addiction with no limitations, it is not even a social disgrace - so keep on doing your good deeds (LOL) Could be worse - you could have been addicted to gambling and then you would have nothing to show for the money!!!! Enjoy the fruit of your work!!!****

I agree I'd rather have this addiction than gambling. And I do have my limits as to what I spend. Unlike gambling.

Why ever would you want to get over it? Seems as though we all have it! I, for one, love shopping for designs--much less painful than trying to find clothes to fit my middle-aged squatty body.

Afraid there is no cure for this addiction - willpower will work for only a couple of minutes (in my case anyway) looked at those darn things this morning but so far have held off, not sure if it will last until tomorrow, time will tell... hang in there ...

Look at it this way, designs don't take up much space...I have gone to "collecting" designs as opposed to fabric! I have no more space for fabric! Tee Hee...:-) !! At least I will have something to put on the fabric though!!

I agree. Since I have my embroiderymachine I just need "simple" fabrics without costly prints. Saves me space in the cupboards and the designs are better to hide *lol*

Sounds like we all have the same problem. I was not going to buy anymore as I am not sewing out what I have, but yesterday there was a good offer at Oregon Patchworks that I could'bt pass up. Keep buying and as was said earlier they don't take up much space and are nice to browse at (and dream of what you would like to do with them) when you don't feel like doing anything else

I was on restriction from emblibrary for the month. But then it was happy hour and I sneaked out Fri. night. Then they tempted me again with another email and more lovely designs. Now I'm really grounded for the rest of the month. Thank goodness it's almost April! Hehehe. Love, love that place. Hugs..Carol

The peg cozies are real cute!
Have fun making them.
The real shame would be if you don't get any use from your purchase.

I can't help you. Everyday I look at designs I do the exact same thing. I have more that I could possibly embroider and still I buy more. I love those peg designs and bought them also. I'm putting the cooking ones on an apron for my granddaughter and the sewing one on a T-shirt for myself. The fishing one on something for my son. I don't think I want to overcome my addiction. LOL I embroider almost everyday all day. Sometimes I don't even cook. LOL Hugs & Stitches, Liz

ATTENTION SISTER CUTIES!!!! News flash there is no known cure for collecting designs, especially if they are free. I suffer from the addiction and until there is a cure I guess we are all going to have to give each other moral support on here. We should just call ourselves the SEDA'S (Sister Embroidery Design Addict's) LOL

I found one way to help with my addiction. With EMB Library, I have my husband to purchase me a gift card. When I spend that I know that is my allowance for a month. Now the free designs I collect them. I have not used them all. But just in case. Peg

When I see the Emb Lib designs that come in by email, I have a quick look through them, and then close it, telling myself 'I don't have time now'. By the time I remember to go through them again the Discounted Date has past! Too late, so this helps, ha,ha. But I also have another addiction, quilting! So lots of quilting fabric looks so lovely I just have to have it, in case, you know.
