I recently posted Sue's zipper purse in projects, my 1st zipper project.When you place the zipper on the guideline, do you let BOTH ends hang over the edges or just the end that is together on the zipper? Also, I used fleece, so my cat would look "Furry" but my zipper wants to 'wave', not lay flat. Is there any way to avoid this with fleece? Of course all was stitched using tearaway stablizer.Appreciate all advice-Toogie

Hi Toogie, first answer,yes the zipper must hang over the edges on both sides,sewcond answer possibly try using a iron on stablizer on the fleece?, I been using scraps of upholstery fabric,find it gives the bags substance!

Thanks for reminding me about upholstery.Someone, who works for an interior designer, gave me some samples ,that would be just the right size for these.

I use a bit of spray glue on the stabilizer to hold the zipper (squirt then place the zipper) in place and to hold the fabric in place too (squirt then place the fabric).

Are you using spray like Quilt basting spray?
Yes. I like Dritz the best (get it at Joanns with a coupon).

I'm afraid that fleece is probably not the best fabric to use, especially until you have made a few!
I think I would try an extra scrap of stabiliser so that the fleece is in a sandwich while you stitch it to the zip.

I allways use ordinary tape to hold zipper and evt.strap.Easy to take off again.

I love Sue's in the hoop projects. I let both ends hang over and then fix it with a bit of paper tape (you get it in the chemist with the bandages) That works fine for me.****
