Question of the Day: If you could add one new thing to your Studio/sewing room what would it be & why?

the one thing that I would add would be more footage LOL, no seriously this has to be something that could actually happen! Sew I guess I would add my machine because right now I don't have it! If I did then I would add something to better organize what I do have. Hugs Loralye PS don't forget to water everyone above me to their garden! TIA

I would like a bigger room to but then maybe I would have toooooooooooo much stuff LOL

I would like more room for my fabric bins and more room to spread out my machines. right now I have no room for my serger to be set up.... I do have two embroidery machines and a really good Husqvarna sewing machine... so no room for serger...

well you can't use them all @ the same time, I know because I have them downstairs on shelves too!

Amen to that !
wHAT WOULD YOU DO IF THE MAID DID A REALY GOOD TIDY UP & YOU couldn't find the item you wanted? I know we put things away & can't find them at times but we know how we think ,the maid could have other ideas where things should go .More time wasted looking
this is sad but true & if we want it done right unfortunately we have to do it ourselves, but the maid could do the cooking & washing up & the everyday chores sew we could have more time to sew! lol

I could use another building the size that I have now joining the other one in the middle so I could add a long arm quilting machine. I am getting a custom made cutting table this summer with drawers under it, as my hubby has promised to build it for me....when we quit having rain every day.....or every other day....

wow that sounds like just what I need! Does he want to make 2, LOL ******** 4 U 2 my dear friend! Hugs Loralye

MORE light!
maybe you need to replace your bulb? I thought my eye-sight was getting worse & the last time I took it in my "guy" said he had to replace the bulb as it was burnt out! $20 for a teeny weeny bulb, but hey it lasted 11-12 yrs!
Actually, I think I really need more light. I keep adding lights in there, 3 Ott lights, 1 other daylight brand, LED lights, lamps, I just can't get enough light. ... Am I the only one who has this problem?
no my dh has added under the counter lights for me for this same reason!

Since I sew in an unfinished basement, I would add solid walls so I could hang things and MAYBE be a little more organized!

A serger since I don't have one.
look for a second hand one.. You will love it.
I have one & I never use it! I have a built in serger stitch (or 2) into my EM, it doesn't cut but it does everything else!
Nope it doesn't....LOL I love my sergers... don't know how I would sew without them or how I did. I have had a serger for about 31 years....and I now have 8...3 aren't working right now...but I do use all the other ones.
wow that's terrific! I bet if I had a teacher to show me everything one would do I might use it more

The first thing that came to mind was, like you, MORE ROOM!

An addition. I need more room. Another embroidery machine with a larger than 5 x 7 hoop size and a new long arm quilting machine. I would also like shelving units for the new addition. Boy I'm really dreaming here, LOL.

well I have learned that overall we would like a new many needles machine & more space! I actually have 3 rooms but I would like them to all be in one room But I am very happy with what I have! It's funny when you don't have what you normally have you sure come to appreciate when it comes back to you! I can't wait for my machine to come home again!

I'm very happy with what I have to but since you asked, I had to throw in my 2 cents.

OK.... here goes ....GreedyGoldingToTheFore......
My one thing would be a Janome 350E embroidery-only machine.
Why??? so that I can free up my big Husqvarna Viking Designer II for quilting and other sewing while I stitch out designs for projects. I'd still use my HVDII for bigger and more special embroidery items but with a 350E going I'd be able to utilise my 'sewing time' more effectively.
