Hi everyone, been busy this week with lots of things. I made this dress down at Meg's yesterday. I went out today and bought some large red buttons to finish it off. I bought a dress and pulled it apart for the pattern and made this one. Will make a toile from the old dress and use it forever! Love and blessings Chris

P.S. I was going to give this to Ophelie but Amy says she has a friend that she would like to give it to - so guess it's going to go to her. I put a strawberry on the yoke too to match the fabric.

It's lovely, Chris, beautiful and bright colours! I like the yoke which gives shape to the top of the dress.

Don't know what's wrong with my keyboard I have to hammer the b otherwise it does not work - just noticed it did not show in bright which made a strange statement.

That's what caught my eye - the yoke! It's basically 2 side seams and the back is connected by buttons and buttonholes. Very quick and easy to make. Love Chris

I thought so too DeVon, but she isn't getting it. One of Amy's friends is Asian and it is going to her daughter and red will suit her beautifully. Love Chris

How adorable and great idea to buy one you like and make a pattern off of it to make many more.

The patterns cost about $12.00 Australian. So I figured the dress was only $15.00 and I've just cut out a pattern from the original dress. Easy! - great to see you back on line. Love and blessings Chris

Chris that is really sweet... You did a great job. I take it, that fabric is printed that way, or did you do all the patchwork? LOL

by pennifold 25 Mar 2012
You are right Terre, it is patchwork fabric! Love and blessings Chris

The patchwork looks as if you have done it yourself but reading a post further down I see that it is patch work material. Lovely and very pretty. Sarah.
