Sleepy Owl. This one has taken me about 4 hrs to make. It has 21 steps with lots of placing and stitching fabric. Looks good but does not sit properly when turned inside out. Not in a hurry to do the other 4 but will eventually do all of them. From Secrets of Embroidery

That's a lot of steps but the end results are excellent and nice details.

I have pulled parts of it out to the correct shape but they just keep popping back in -- like on the wings. Maybe by the time I have finished the 6 the 6th one will be perfect. Fingers crossed. Love the eyes.

Had to go to my hordes of fabric and couldn't believe how much green I have. Wanted to do a brown as well but surprisingly I don't have a lot of browns and I love browns.

The green is perfect for this sleepy owl!

This is a beautiful owl.....no wonder it took 4 hours!! I understand, though, how laborious it is to work on one project for so long!!

It is the placing of the fabric and colour changes that take the time.

I have found them! Here is link in case anyone else is looking: http://www.secretsof.com/content/7758
Sorry link may not work - anyway - Set is called "Owls in my Kitchen" by Inspiration Mutz.
I think it was available in a couple sites and one was cheaper than the other. If you make these please let me know how you get on just in case I am doing it all wrong. It is "Owls in my Kitchen". Thank you sllakin

He is cute , but way too much time. I guess mine would be "one of a kind"

This is why I have not yet done the remaining 4 designs.

Did you put 2 folded pieces overlapped like a cushion back on the back of the owl . It sits a lot better than putting a solid piece on the back. I have tried both methods and find the first one sits better. Regards Joyce

Yes I did.

Thank You, Love these but they take ages to make and I am not so sure they would make very good Pot Holders

Wow! Very Cool! So is he a little purse or stuffed? Looks incredible! Love the eyes!

He/She is one of 6 and I bought them as pot holders, but I am sure they could be adapted to make a purse.

He is adorable and well worth the effort. think how much longer it would take if it was done all by hand lol.

I think it actually would be quicker. Most of the time is placing the fabric and cutting close to the edges.

BEAUTIFUL owl!! I love it. You used nice colors and fabric.

Thanks, I actually bought this fabric to make a quilt years ago. I know I will never make the quilt so it went to the Owl.
