What a great question. I have often wanted to do something like giving a flower just to say thank you for their design. But you are right, without opening the post you have no idea if you downloaded. And sometimes not even until you try to download it and get the "do you want to replace" message on your own computer :)

I haven't seen any way to do that - thanks for asking - maybe someone with more knowledge than me can answer!

when you leave a comment on sew forum, you'll see a black dot in front of the posting when you're looking at a list so the only way I know of is to post a comment or thank you.

I don't know that but I do know that the link a is different color in the list on the designs I have looked at. Unfortunately it doesn't show it on a different computer and maybe there is a time limit or it goes away when something happens on their site because some that I have seen a year ago are not the changed color anymore.

I do not believe there is a way other than leaving a comment and then going back to look for your avatar later. It would be nice though, wouldn't it??

Let's say you go to the free embroidery designs category on SewForum. You download a design and post a thank you or comment. When you get back out of the design, you will see that the design has moved to the top of the list and there is a black dot in the column to the left of the paperclip. Any time you return to the Free Embroidery Designs page, the designs you have commented on will have the black dot. This holds true for any category on Sew forum. If you download and do not submit a thank you or comment, there will be no dot.
