Seeing lidiad's beautiful doily I decided to make one as well. The design stitched out beautifully but the scallops were a disaster - needed to change the needle, cut the fabric to close and when I rinsed out the wss and stretched it before ironing the small hole appeared. I've had more productive days, but as a test stitch it is not too bad.

The design is really nice. Sorry you had so much trouble with this project. I think we've all had days like that, and they are truly frustrating. Hope your next project goes better for you.

This is beautiful! It is too bad the edge pulled away but it can be saved and used. I would just sew a piece of narrow lace around the edge and display it proudly for the beauty that it is. Love the colors!

Even with all the problems you had it is beautiful. I have trouble with scallops as well. I'm afraid to get to close as I might cut the stitches and then there is more fabric on the outside then I like. This looks great in your picture.

Thank you. I know what you mean. I usually leave a tad too much and wanted to do better this time. I'd rather err on the safe side in future.

It's a lovely design and if it was mine I would stitch another piece of fabric on following the scallops and turn it. I've tried several scissors and always stress I'm getting too close and going to cut through.

I use wss too. It's not in DBC (yet), it might get there.

It won't be easy to get perfect placement when you use the small design. Even with all the tutorials on how to do it with the help of print-outs. I' d leave some space between them instead of trying to have them touching each other - which would be very hard to get exactly right.
