I use mostly Isacord, but am not against trying others like Madeira, etc. if I can get them at a reasonable price. Where I live in north Idaho, there aren't many stores to buy from, and shipping costs can be prohibitive.

My favorite thread is 40 polyester from metro, because it is the less expensive of all, they have many colours, and the shining is good.
I am lucky, because my machine ( husqvarva Ruby)like it and does not break it.
I think that there is not shiping inside USA, and the price is so interesting that even with the shiping to France, it is much less expensive than the threads which are sold here.

Isacord and Floriani 40wt because that is all my machine will use.

I purchased 19 spools from Metro and my machine hates it. I'm giving it to a cousin that has a Baby Lock....do any of you know if that machine can use Metro?

Metro 40 wt poly in both of my machines - love the price and sheen. I also have some Floriana 40 wt poly (which is really nice but much more expensive than Metro. HATE anything Sulky - my machines just hate it. I have a Brother 780D and a Brother Quattro.

Madeira
When I started I used Anchor( lovely vivid colours never broke!) which I loved but when the local shop closed I could not get it any more. So I started with Madeira. Last Birthday my husband bought me this! A thread heaven!

My best is what i buy here at the flea market it is a very large cone 6000 yards and it is only $1.99 hugs

I mainly use rayon for emb. Sulky & Coats&Clark. But also use the poly X-40 on a large spool. I use 40 weight for emb. As for regular sewing, I still use Coats & Clark multi purpose! I find it can't be beat & my Viking machines like it.

i use Floriani

Since discovering Metro it is all I use. The price is right and it works great.

I use the "Brother" set of 61 colours. Sounds very limited to the amounts others have but is enough for me. I have got the full sets from both of these supliers and been very happy. Scrap dragon is cheaper. xx

I choose Metro as my favorite. However, I do have RA, Maderia, and Sulky. I also have some from ThreadArt. I never have had a problem with any of them.

Isacord thread, all I use with my Bernina

I use 40 weight Rayon thread for most embroidery.
It runs through my machine great and I like the look and feel of the rayon thread in designs and FSL designs.
I was buying the Admelody Rayon from BFC-Stach website but they now have their own brand of embroidery thread now and have not yet brought in Rayon.
I do have some other brands such as Madeira and Sulky etc.
I am thinking of buying the Robinson Aton Rayon from the Brother Mall to try it out.

I would like a color card for the Robinson Anton rayon but no one seems to have these available to purchase

I like to buy the large cones(5000 yards) and usually order 30 cones at a time and buy the thread from the USA and have it shipped to Canada. This usually works out cheaper than buying the large cones here in Alberta or from other Canadian Suppliers and having it mailed to me.

I also buy Kingstar Metallic thread from the USA and find it it very good.
I do have some polyester thread but tend not to use it very much.

I love Robison Anton rayon thread, 40 wt. I use that the most. I have all the Metro poly and am happy with it. I tried Isacord and didn't care for it much, I didn't think it had much shine. Worked great for FSL. My machine will use whatever I give it. Hugs..Carol
