My embroidery programme is giving me trouble. I have a Husquavarna Designer and use a "dongle" inserted to my lap top to access the programme. Now when inserted in the usb port, it comes up "no dongle attached". Dealer says the dongle works and lap top reads other insertions in usb port. Anyone had this problem.

It is sometimes a good idea to use the USB port that is further away from you. Laptops and some pc have different power to the ports. My live in IT, My DS has given me this advice. Also for Ext HD that need pwer to detect.

Haven't had that problem but I lose connectivity upon occassion. Try shutting down the computer and restarting with and without the dongle to see if either works.

I have had this same problem with a regular USB stick not being read properly & I have done the same thing recommended by bev just sticking it into another slot makes it read again!

Welcome to Cute. I have a dongle, I just started using it and hope I never have this problem. It sounds like a hardware/software incapability issue. Good Luck, please let us know the resolution and come back for conversation! Live Laugh Download Stitch!

I have had this problem, and after just using another USB port, it was good.

For some reason, it seems you need to use the same port you actually activated the dongle in. Try all the ports to see if one will work!

Could be many things, did it work before and all of a sudden stopped working? or did you just install it and it won't recognize the dongle? or have you installed other programs recently that could interfere with it? which software program do you have on your computer (there are so many and it is a software problem, not a machine problem)? very different situations, very different solutions. Let us know more and we can possibly help

I had this problem when I went to Windows 7, and found out you have to tell the computer that you HAVE a dongle, but don't remember for sure how. Think it was under settings. Sorry I cannot be more help. The only help you can get from Viking now is if it is 5D emb software, they will not help on 3D or 4D, & I have 4D. Hugs, Judy

I get the same message at times when I insert the dongle when the computer is already on. Restarting it with the dongle attached helps.

The light in the dongle is on even when I get the "no dongle attached" message, so that's why I restart.

I think I want one. Between the camera, readers, flash drives and now dongles I think a few more USB's would be helpful!
