All I can hear is banging & his footsteps him muttering & now he is humming? That can't be good? Has anyone had this happen with good results before?

Humming is good, he must feel comfortable that you will be pleased with the result. Relax and wait for the finished product. Hugs,Bev.

It's kind of scarey, this is not something he has ever done before & I just moved things around while I was waiting for my machine to come home?

No matter what he does just be happy knowing you can put it back to the way it was if you don't like it. He just might surprise you.

I think he is making shelves although God only knows why it has taken all day long? I mention how nice Carolyn's looked & said I could use a couple more? He said I should be ok to look in the morning?

I wouldn't even want my husband to go near my sewing room. He can clean anything except my sewing room. Now if your getting new and more shelves that could be a good thing.

Well if you can't find anything you will know who to blame but you might get a pleasant surprise when he is finished. You could always go out to the fabric shop to avoid getting a headache from his banging

I don't think that I would trust my dh in my sewing room, he would throw my treasures away, yours must be special.
Good luck

I personally would not let DH anywhere near my sewing area. He is a tidy freak and would throw things away. Hope things work out. At least he is trying to help. LOL. :) Sarah.

Well, sounds to me like he is putting up shelves or something as you say you heard banging and muttering. Then you hear humming. I would say things weren't going the way he wanted to start with and then things started turning out and that's why he started humming. You probably won't have to wait much longer to find out!

I would only hope that if my hubby was spending time in MY sewing room he would be taking that old councel TV out of there and putting a shelf to the ceiling in its place, lol! I hope its what you have been wanting, and a great surprise when you finally go check it out.

Hi there,
My daughters have offered to organize my sewing room for me, but I have always given them a definite NO. I appreciate the offer but I just don't like them touching my stuff. I am sure he is just accenting the sound to make you sweat. Good Luck!

I would definitely have to stand GUARD, while my hubby is doing anything in my SEWING room. He has good intentions, but is like an "elephant in a china shop", near delicate items! Hope yours has more inclinations to being "careful"!! LOL
