Question of the Day: To be fair I would ask that when you answer you only give out one ok? When you have a upcoming baby shower to attend what items will you make to bring for the new baby? PS I am told that it is a boy!

I would do a quilted wipie case and a quilted binky holder (big zipped bag, little zipped bag).

I would do way more than this if it were a family member or close friend.
by pldc 02 Apr 2012
it is my godchild's 1st baby!where can I find a pattern for this quilted wipey case?
by pcteddyb 02 Apr 2012
Lots of places have them - I used one from Embroidery Projects and changed it a bit for my needs. ZippyDesignZ.com has some - her designs always sew out well. FiveStarFonts.com also have some - they are in a "peanut shape" that is kinda unique.

I'm thinking burpies & bibs for sure don't know how to make a change pad but it seams to me I have done them in the past?

First boy? A toddler sized quilt, since they will probally get plenty of baby sized ones and toddler sized ones a great for when they get a bit older. And an outfit for when it gets older, again since most are for the size the baby is right now, lol! Oh and baby diapers, they could always use them, again a size bigger than the child. Do you see a theme here? LOL!
Have fun!!

I recently went to a baby shower and here is what I made. I bought fleece with Winnie the pooh design and embroidered Winnie the Pooh on the corners and crocheted around the edges of the blanket. Then I bought a Winnie the Pooh stuffed bear to go with it. It was one yard of fleece and made a nice size blanket for the crib. Hugs, Mary

well that's a good idea, how did you crochet around the edge did you cut a hole where ever you stitched?
by pldc 02 Apr 2012
& what was the finished size, I have bought pretty blue fleece & I was thinking the same thing but now I can't remember how I did it before?
by powagrl 03 Apr 2012
There are rotary cutter blades that will cut evenly spaced holes for you.

When you google the Skip Stitch site, you will find the links for the instructions & the You Tube link. Many Project Linus blankets are made this way.

Monogrammed Burps, blanket or quilt, depends on how close I am to the fmly. I often get invitations for baby showers from people I have nevr met. Friends my daughters have at their jobs. these I do not put as much time and effort into since I usually have made something for them for my daughters to give./Lillian

I have been to several baby showers and stitched items to give. The most responses and laughs I got was to a bib with the "Party- My Crib- 2 a.m.- BYOB" embroidered on it! LOL

First depends on who it's for. I have one to do right now for an aquaintence who recently had a little boy prematurely - I waited to make sure he was going to be ok as it was touch and go for a while, but now doing OK. I have 3 onesies, 4 facecloths and I will probably also do up a couple of bibs.

It also kind of depends on my mood when I go to do it.

how do you find sewing out on the onesies, I did sz 2 t-shirts & I found it easier to do then the sz 12? Any tips?

A rag quilt embroidered with designs you choose for the baby. Use Downy (or another fragrant fabric softener) when you wash it, and watch it get passed around and everyone exclaim how it smells 'just like a baby!'

look to the left of her site, where it says best sellers just scroll down to #7
by momhome 03 Apr 2012
I had to look too - to see what you were talking about. I had never heard of that before. That is a really cute idea. I have 3 nieces that all had/are having boys. We had a shower for them last weekend. If I had seen this earlier I would have made some of them and put in with the bibs I made. I bet they wouldn't have gotten that kind of gift anywhere else.

I always take a hooded towel with something on the hood that goes with the nursery theme and the name if they know it already. One bath towel & 1/2 of a hand towel will make a great size towel that can be used for several years!

In reference to one of the posts below: I also do the PaciPod holders and the PaciWipe holder. got them at digi stitches. Did you know it's not safe to wipe your baby's paci with a baby wipe? They are not food same & that paci goes right back into his/her mouth. There's a couple brands of wipes out now just for pacifiers..Arm & Hammer & 1st yrs are 2 I know of for sure. Got mine at WalMart. They are easy to make..all in the hoop.
