Cuties, can someone explain something to me? If I have a zipped folder with the design formats. Can I delete the one that I do not need. For example I need PES, Can I delete DST, XXX, ART....? Or do I need to keep them in the folder for the PES format to work? Thank you for your knowledge or opinions. Thank you. Peg

Yes you can. You only need to keep the pes if that's what your machine uses, bin the rest Suelyn

Yes, you can delete. I do. I have a TON of files just with the format that I need - I don't keep what I don't (and if I were to ever get a machine with a different format I could convert my PES to that format).

Yes, what I do is delete all but the PES one and THEN I have a folder - Zipped files for backup that I send the zipped one to as it is small. The zipped file I backup every so often. This I learned from Meganne.

I do the same as sciencewidow does; del all the unnecessary extensions; only keep the files with color sheet or extra explaination. Make sure the first part of the name is the same, so if you file them they are close together

Thanks. I thought my brain was not working as it should. Maybe I knew it before but now do not have that knowledge now. Thanks again for making me feel better. And a flower back to you.

Thank you for your help. I have to be taking a lot of space for memory by keeping all of these files.

Peg, I see you have your answer - YES delete them - they take up space on your PC - you need it for more designs. Hehehe!

Just one addition. Be sure your instruction come along and also the PDF. I have deleted many of them. They don't all come with them but some do. And latter when you need them they are handy to have trust me. I have just learned this one myself. Hugs & Stitches, Liz

If you are not sure what some of the folders contain ,open them up because some might just be links to their site or just something else which you have no need of. I don't delete all the formats that I don't use only the ones I haven't heard of because you might get a new machine which uses a different format later.I save all the zipped folders in another folder & every month move them over to my external hard drive

I use Pe-Design and cannot see what is in the zip.I view all designs using design Database.

In windows, I open the zip and highlight only the Pes, HUS and Instruction (if I think I will need it),Then COPY to the folder for that site.
Then delete the zip folder.
note: empty your recycle bin cos that takes up space too.

Hugs Bev
