Question of the Day: Well I was wondering What do you make when your invited to go to a bridal shower & the bride-to-be is very fond of both & your husband? All I can seem to think of is embroidering or embossing monogram bath towels?

A real pretty embroidered picture album goes over well. Pillow slips with His and Hers or monograms. Placemats if you know their colors. Throw pillow with wedding dates etc./Lillian

I have done aprons for both (pretty/fluffy for her, bbq or sports team for him) with matching hot pads and kitchen towels. Also embrodered on organza and pressed into soap, matching hand towels for bath and toilet paper (was big hit at shower). Pillow cases if you know there sizes, Mr. and Mrs. in a neutral color or mongrams. Table runners with napkins, again can be mongrammed. Coasters, hanger covers are a good filler gifts. I did kitchen towels with all the holidays (4th of July, St. Patricks Day, Easter, etc)for one couple and they were a big hit. Almost anything you make will be different enough from the run of the mill gifts that it will be a big hit with the couple, just because you made it especially for them. Linda

Well everyone took my ideas. I was going to say some stuff for the kitchen like matching towels, pot holders, or even kitchen scrubbies. Some great instructions are at DBS. These would definitely be something that they would not be getting otherwise.

His and her's matching aprons and some cooking utensils. On the aprons I can see the Chicken designs. His says"I rule the roost". Hers say's
"I rule the rooster". I have seen these designs at emblibrary and sew weird.

I have found that most brides love anything with their new monogram. Towels, sheets & pillowcases in the colors the couple has chosen seem to be foavrites.

How about an embroidered book cover for Recipes.
Bath towels are lovely but they can be a bother to keep them looking nice. I have done bath towels and either they are only put for show or they get 'worn looking'. Newly weds are not always big on Laundry tricks.
Special occasions Placemats are a big hit with my family,They tell me the colours that they like and only need to do Two for their everyday use.
Table cloths and food netting covers that are used for when they entertain, with added emb. All the guests are impressed.
Happy stitching

I am really old fashioned and think that because it is a BRIDAL shower....something soft, sexy and personal (not crude but nice). Towels for the wedding gift then again, I don't know the bride so you have to make that decision.

I love to do personalized pillow cases. His and Hers, or His Majesty and Her Majesty, or even Mr. and Mrs. If not a gift for both, then maybe a monogrammed cosmetic case, or travel bag?
