Hi Aero and welcome to the CuteEmbroidery World Wide family.
I Have two Xquisite 2 machines and love them to bits, they were so far ahead of their time that all the others are only now catching up with their technology.

Firstly I would suggest you come and join us in the Yahoo ElnaExers group. You won't find more information on your Elna anywhere else on the web.
Our Moderator, Bernadette is a Master Educator and there is nothing she doesn't know about embroidery, machines, and the industry in general.
She is also the World Wide Rep for Juki, who manufactured the Xquisite machines.
When you apply to join, just tell Bernie Meganne sent you, she is a very dear friend.
Once you join our lovely group, you can go into the FILES section and find lots of information available there, including how to reformat the SMARTCARD after you purchase one for your machine.
You will also find information on the COMPUTER Direct Link Cable to download designs directly to your machine.
You will need to have the Xpressive software to do this.
Otherwise you can download designs to your SMARTCARD from some other programs such as Embird.
Bernie can tell you which others will do this.
On your computer you should have slots to attach periferals such as camera cards, USBs etc.
If you let us know at Elna Exers, what peripheral slots you have, we can advise you further.

There is an adapter you can use if you don't have a SMARTCARD slot (Smartcards were discontinued ages ago), I would have to go and search the posts about it at EE, but you could do this yourself once you join. Or just ask and the girls will answer you.
I know I bought some from Ebay and tested them, they all worked and I wrote a post in EE, so it should be easy to locate.
I'm sorry I can't do more for you just now but I have 2 huge projects I am trying to finish for other Cuties.
Hugs n roses, Meganne
