It seems that Gandalf has a new night job (inspecting underneath cars) but he forgot to wear overalls & has patches of oil or grease in his white fur.I have gotten some of it off with a washer & soap but would like some suggestions on how to remove more of it-bathing him is out of the question.

Corn starch should help absorb the mess and it's safe for pets and then you could brush it off. With all that white fur you can almost know where he has been. Were you able to snap a picture of him?

I use Simple Green to remove grease.
It is supposedly what they used on the wildlife that were caught in the Exon Valdiz oil spill. All I know is, it works and it hasn't harmed my animals.

I use vinegar & bi-carb mix on most things., maybe a paste rubbed in may help & is perfectly safe as both are edible.

Probably he was thinking : I need a job " to pay off so I'm allowed to live here" he he
My cat thinks her job is "drying our handbasin or the borders of our windows if they are a bit wet, or the floor of our shower"

My Pekinese also loves to sit under my car in the garage. Nice and cool. I have not had any problem with oil. I immediately want to tell you to use white spirit or meths but not a good idea on your furbaby.

Dawn dish soap. Wet a wash cloth and wipe it on the oily spot, it is what they use at oil spills for the affected animals.

The grease & oil isn't from our car which is safely locked up in the garage every night. There are so many cars parked on the footpaths at times you would think it was a used car yard.I wanted to put fro sale signs on them for April fools day but wasn't allowed to.
