thrift store & found a brand new package of blue & white ruffled trim! It said 20 meters on the package and I got it for $1.99. I thought that was a really good buy!But the best buy I ever got had to be a visit to a Joann`s store last year! They were moving & almost everything in the store was 60% off & of course I had a coupon & I happened to be the lucky number customer sew I bought THREAD & more THREAD & I paid about $1.02 per spool & they were the big sulky spools too! I bought everyone that they had left!

my most memorable sewing purchase was on Good Friday a few years back when I purchased my first embroidery machine. It was the Bernina 185E which, I sold at a great price and was able to buy my 730e. Great memory and best purchase.

When one of our local factories went out of business, I bought fabric for $1.00 per yard. I bought lots of it. Probably about $60 worth. Hugs, Mary

I would have to say when I bought my thread from Metro emb. I have so many colors now I don't even crave buying more. I thought the value was well worth it. I used to use my 50% off JoAnns coupons for little spools of emb thread. I got a much better deal at Metro.

I am always looking for bargain, and check JoAnn stores very frecuently, once i had a 50% cupon I decided to buy a case for my sewing machine, it was round 60$ when I was just about to pay a lady next to me, gave me a cupon for that particular item, i paid around 8$ for it!!!! i was very happy and gave hundeds of thanks to this lady.

My best sewing related buy was not a buy! Last week I groaned about my Bro.ULT machine being locked & the hand wheel wouldn't turn. It was even suggested I lay it on it's side. Believe me, I tried everything -even almost disassembly! After 4-5 days of trying to dig thread from the bearing, I finally wilted & took it to shop. My repairman yanked it apart, removed wad of thread, and told me there was no charge. Now is that a great deal?!!! or what!

Hmmm, one was when I paid for 18 yards of fabric for curtains and got at least 23 yards. Another was just recently I bought 90 yards of bias for $5.

I've gotten a lot of good buys, but not long ago I bought an old sewing machine for my GD to start learning to sew with. It is an awesome machine with 82 builtin designs and it also has the alphabet, even a builtin needle threader. I found it at a garage sale and the lady was asking $30 for it and I checked it out and in process told her what I wanted it for (she also has a GD she's starting off), then I asked if she would take $20 and after hesitating a few minutes said OK (I would have paid the $30 if she wouldn't have come down as I felt it was worth it).

Great deal on the Wilcom Level 3 digitizing software a few weeks ago when they had a trade in deal that was incredible.

My best find was at Joann's several years ago. Bought a cutting mat with marked measurements of 28x66 for $10.00. Still using it.

I would have to say my best buy was when I bought my Husqvarna Designer Diamond and I was GIVEN a $1,500 Brother 750D as well as the PE Design software and the Brother card reader, to go with it.

Admittedly, the Diamond COST $10,500, but I could have just got IT and nothing more for my money.

Though that same dealer had previously tried to rip me off when he tried to sell me an EX DEMO, SUPERSEDED, Elna Xpressive ONE for the same price as the latest model, brand new Elna Xpressive TWO ($7,500.)
I guess he figured he owed me, and I did tell him as much, in no uncertain terms either, but I would have settled for the $300 Mega Hoop for the Diamond.

Twenty some years ago I played bingo and won. After paying off my car note, I went machine shopping and fell in love with the New Home 8000. Couldn't afford it but I went back daily bargaining them down, they finally offered to give me "blue book" for my old Husqvarna, to their surprise it was worth $600, I gleefully went home with my new machine and cash for the fabric store.

My Bernina 440. Quilt Festival brought Bernina machines to be used in classes. They were then sold at 20% off. I put my name down for one but opted to take it with the embroidery unit. So many people bought (only 6 were at the show and about 15 ordered) that I got a brand new machine at Demo price! Sadly it got stolen!!! Elizabeth
