Orange means you gave a flower to that cutie - you give flowers as a way to say thank you. Orange is good! People giving you flowers is why the number under your avatar (picture) goes up. There is no monetary value to a flower - they are just for fun - so water Cuties gardens every day!

Because you can't give yourself flowers so on your own comments the flower will appear orange to you, to everyone else it will be green until they click on it and give you a flower.
