Those of you who read the personals are not going to believe this. Yesterday one of our dangerous taxis hit my eldest grandson Joshua, while he was on his bike. Of course the taxi drove off without stopping. Joshua has broken his wrist in a couple of places and is having surgery early tomorrow. The worst thing about the accident (apart from his wrist and bruises) is that people tried to take his shoes and helmet while he was on the ground. Thank goodness the police arrived quickly. The only thing they took was his wallet. When these brothers get back to school after the holidays, Jared still on crutches and Josh with his wrist, they are going to wonder what on earth happened over the Easter holidays!!! Sarah.

Sorry to hear about the accident, and even more sorry to hear that people are stealing from him, rather than helping him ! Where did it happen ? Was it a dangerous neighbourhood then ? I hope the surgery goes well !

Linda, yes it was a fairly dangerous place as the main road passes the African settlement. I will let you know how he is tomorrow. Thank you.

I am sorry to hear this. Did anyone get the license number of the taxi? It is alwful that people were stealing from him rather than helping him. I hope it all turns out okay for him.

Thank you Mary. Unfortunately no one got the number. If they did, no one would say anything.

That is awful! People are so cruel and don't care about others. So sorry for both boys being in pain. Hugs to you all Sarah!

I am so sorry to hear of his injuries. Someone that hits and runs is a coward and should be caught. If you do a search on Travel Wallets & Money Belts maybe you could make something safe for him to carry his wallet in closer to his body.

Thank you Anita. The wallet was on the inside pocket of his leather jacket. They had to unzip the jacket to get it.

Oh Sarah, I am devastated to hear your 'news' I am even more horrified to hear that 'people' attempted to steal his shoes and his helmet, my goodness that is just unacceptable!!! Sooner or later the powers that be HAVE to do something about our taxi situation!!! I will keep you and Joshua in my thoughts and send a great big hug to you both.

Thank you Terri. As you will probably understand, we were more shocked about people trying to take things than we were about the accident itself.

I do understand and that is where my huge shock comes from. I cannot conceive that people will do 'alternative shopping' when someone is down!!!!

Sorry to hear this. Hope the children get better soon. But it's really disgusting that people didn't try to help only try to rob.Typical taxi - my husband's car got hit by a taxi who was most apologetic, gave all details. Next day hubby oges off to see the guy about sorting out the claim only to find that everything was false, number plate, tel no, address!!!
Hugs

You go through more what seems to be geographic difficulties, they are not. I can not believe it! This saddens me to know it is this extreme. No laughing - downloading and trying to stitch!

Did anyone see which Taxi Co the taxi was from? In Aust the Police would be able to contact the Taxi Co and check which Taxi was in that area at that specific time. Hope the boys recover quickly and they catch the Taxi Driver.

Lyn - this is South Africa. The taxis are all privately owned. Most of them are not even roadworthy and most of the drivers have no licence or a forged licence. The taxi driver will never be caught.

Oh! my goodness and on Easter Sunday too. I hope the Taxi driver is caught and I cannot fathom that someone would do this when a person is down and on the ground. Makes me very sad! I hope that both of your grandsons heal fast. Love and blessings Chris

Sarah, I am upset to hear about Joshua.I hope his surgery went well and he heals quickly. It seems like there is evil in all the world, more so where you live. It is a shame for people to act so incompassionate.God's blessing to you and your loved ones-Toogie
