Question of the Day: In this day & age when we are all sew very busy, convience is very important to most of us. Sew my question today is: How many of us buy our sewing supplies on-line on a regular basis? What do you buy, & Why? & would you recommend them to a friend?

I don't buy online as such but I do buy from a catalogue over the phone, threads. They are very quick with next day delivery and very good price for large thread cones. Here in the uk it is hard to find good suppliers. I would recommend them to anyone, based in Glasgow Scotland they are excellent. Suelyn

They are really freindly and if you ring them they will send you samples for all stabilisers and solve. Plus a catalogue, there is nothing they don't sell of all sorts of crafts and embroiderable clothing. Check the website. Suelyn

I buy from both - I am an equal opportunity shopper! However, I do get most of my thread online from metroemb.com and I do get quite a bit of my stabilizer online at worldweidner.com. I have had a bad experience getting fabric online so I buy that locally.

I purchase my threads, stabilizer, pre-wound bobbins and most of my supplies on line because it is much cheaper than our fabric stores here. I have ordered very nice fabric from Connecting threads and do intend to buy more as I find the quality good.

I buy almost everything but fabric on line because they have very little embroidery supplies where I am living at present. I do recommend buying supplies on line and I continue to recommend Allstitch to friends.

I buy most all embroidery supplies at the store where I purchased my machine because they give me 20% off everything I buy... and since my macnine is very picky about it's thread, I buy all thread there.
I buy most of the other things at JoAnn Fabric with my 40% and sometimes %50 off coupons, or is they have a sale I stock up.
I've only purchased on line for thread once. Metro and my machine hates it.

I buy practically all my supplies on line. All stitch for needles & stabilizer, Shoppers rule for lots of stuff, metro for thread. Once in awhile I do buy at Joann's but do not get there often as I have to go miles one way for the store. I do not go that direction very often. i also have bought thread from Threadart and have had no problems with it.

I buy most things on line (shops are too expensive just because I can't restrain myself buying more because I see it.) Of course if I need fabric I have to go to the shop and then will return with items I really did not need but could not resist. So on line is the safe option for me. I make sure I do not browse on line but just type in what I need.

I like to shop online. I get a much better price. For thread Metro is a must. For stabilizer I like Worldweidner. I'll buy fabric on ebay and also other craft supplies. If i need something I usually check online first for the best price. Free shipping is a plus.

Excellent question. I have bought thread (first one was from threadart - now I get from metro), stabilizer. It is cheaper - even with shipping - than locally. Material I get at fabric stores as I have to see and feel it. On line is great.

No they are very flexible I have only ordered by phone and have placed orders for as little as 5 lge threads.

I buy emb. threads, laces, neddles, stabilizers, machine extras, like new hoops, everything is much cheaper on line, i like All Stitch, Thread Exchange, Thread art, and for laces Chiptrim and Home sew, i think the only thing I still not bought on line is fabric, I like to see and touch it before I buy it.

I buy most of my things in local stores. I did find a great stablizer from a place in MD & if you have a large order shipping is free. So some of us go together to get the free shipping to one of our houses. But I don't like to buy without seeing! And I don't like to put my credit card out there either. I use the JoAnn's coupons & sales for a lot of my things as well as my dealer's specials for machine things.

www.allstitch.net is where I buy almost all supplies such as stabilizers, needles, scissors, Nebs bobbins, etc. I prefer to buy stabilizers in rolls, than small packages to save (LOTS)of money! I buy thread mostly from Metro and BFC Stash; good thread at reasonable price. When it comes to fabrics, I need to touch/feel, so it is nice to have a Hancocks Fabrics and a Joann"s within ten miles of my home.

I buy thread from Metro Thread for embroidery. I buy my quilting thread from LOng Creek Mills. I buy titanium needles for both from Superior threads. I have bought fabric from JoAnn and Hancocks online. I buy my wss at Joanns when I have a coupon and my tear away I get at Walmart. I get fabric from walmart and JoAnn locally too.

I have been buying machine feet on line from different places ,taking advantage of the high Aussie dollar & the low postage for small items often saving over $20 or more.Most of these items have come from USA taking around 10 days to arrive.I like to know what I am buying so fabrics I need to see first.
