We have a 1 cent coin, but it's no longer used in shops, they just round off to the nearest 5. But that's only when you pay cash, every other way you pay the correct amount. So it won't make any difference at all on designs.

Being a fellow canadian, I think it is about time they got rid of it, of course they will round everything off and it will be easier.

Our lowest value coin here in the Uk is the 1p.. the penny or one pence as we call it :-)
Our highest value coin in general circulation is
the £2 two pound coin.

hmmm.

I know a penny isn't much...but they add up! Just think..you buy 25 different items in a week, round UP to the next amount (I doubt they will round DOWN) & an item having 3 cents added to it: over a week's time you lost 75 cents; a month $3; over a year $36 dollars...and that's just for 25 separate items a week!! As my Dad always said "Count your pennies & your dollars will take care of themselves."

I think it is a good idea when I pick up my MacDonalds coffee and it costs $1.56. Hope they don't make it $1.55.

When my husband was in the military , we were stationed in Germany. On post we did not deal with pennies. Everything was rounded up or down to the nearest nickle. We really didn't miss the pennies and it evened out pretty much in the end. This the first I have heard of the pennies going away in the fall though.

I am in the US. With everything going electronic now I would not be at all surprised to see more forms of currency disappear. Checks have almost been eliminated already.

It has been years since I bought a design on a CD. I have been spoiled by automatic download of designs. At my age I am just trying to keep up 'a little' so as not to get completely left behind in this age of computers.

Last year when my son saw that I had an Android phone he thought it so amusing to see me using it.

actually we have like many countries a dollar store, however we pay 13% in taxes sew in the end any shopping here will cost us more right? Or will it be less? if it's 13 will they make it 15? if sew then it will be more

Only in Canada. eh!!!! We will have to pay the rounded up price. Don't you just hate it, I know I do.
