only thing I purchased on ebay was sulky thread, not sure it wasn't a bit old. I would think if the backing is in it's original package, it should be good. Check out the sellers rating

World Weidner has an e-bay store and a regular store (www.worldweidner.com) and I have bought from them several times.

Yes I do a lot and no problems at all. Look at the star rating if tat is good.

I buy most everything on Ebay, hair clips, sewing notions, fabric,seeds, dog products, clothes etc.Never any problems. always email seller first if you encounter any problems.Ratings and feedback are crucial to a seller and normally all problems are resolved.
