Gandalfs face on Easter Monday afternoon was swollen & by that night the swelling was about a 3cm circle. There was no mark,he had no trouble eating his dinner & he would let me touch it .I decided he had to go to the vet the next morning at 8am before we went to the specialist.Told husband not to give him any breakfast in case he had to have a operation,so next morning got up to find the he feed Gandalf because he was meowing. It was decided he would be shut in the garage with his bed, water bowl etc so he wouldn't get into any more strife.I shut the doggy door exit & went to put him in the garage but he escaped before I could shut the door ,right out the back door which husband had left open. When we got home that afternoon he was sitting on the chair with what now was a broken abscess on his cheek& missing fur-see photo.Manage to get him in the crate to go to the ,with all helpers banned from helping -he didn't realize what happened till it was too late.Vet lanced it & more muck spurted out everywhere, gave him a antibotic needle. The next day Gandalf had to go back for another needle ,so he sat in the crate with his back to the door ,so the Vet just gave him it in his rump ,avoiding any cat tantrums.Thursday morning his face was normal & he was climbing trees again

He is a hand full. At least his fur is white again from the oil and his face looks normal. What will he get into next and he looks so innocent. lol

No idea what did it but it came up fast & the top photo is after it burst ,so it must have had a lot more muck in it, than what the vet let out when he laced it

Not to worry, Cats do have 9 lives. He's the epitomy of a roaming Tom Cat. So handsome he is./Lillian

He is desexed & fast running out of lives, been in trouble twice this month already. It has been raining at night so he has been content to stay in at night,in fact he was inside the night before this lump appeared

A typical puncture wound from another cat's claw! Poor baby he looks so dejected. I'm so glad you got it seen to quickly, these abscesses can be quite lethal if not treated soon enough.
I forbid my cats to play rough with each other, Mummy always steps in before any claws can make contact. LOL!!!

Glad that Gandalf is better now. Had to watch for the neighbours cat years ago and she had something similiar next to her teeth. Also got some visits to the vet.
Just like capoodle wrote: What will he do next week to keep you busy? ;o)
Greetings, Bettina
