It's funny how we never seem to take the time for ourselves! we make beautiful things but we always seem to be making them for others? Don't get me wrong I love what I sew (well usually) but I enjoyed my potholders yesterday & thought how nice they look hanging up in MY kitchen!

I beaded some bracelets on elastic a couple of months ago for myself but have not had time to do anything else for myself. Making little angels and passing them out at my chemo sessions.

Maybe that counts as being for myself, emotionally.
I bet everyone loves receiving your little angels. I agree, giving to others is truely a gift to ourselves. It's a wonderful feeling!!!!

I am in the process right now doing something for me. I have been working on this for a while now. It will have over 1.1 million stitches to it. It will be going in my bathroom. My DH asked last night who is this for? When I said ME. He told me that I am always giving everything away. Peg

Peg, with that kind of stitch count, you really need to keep this one for yourself, no one will appreciate it as much as you because you know how much work went into it.

You are right. I am taking a break from my quilt. And I have already past the 1 million stitches on that one. And it is 1/4 done. Large king siza. What can I say? Love EMBROIDERY. People are always asking to use my machine or to make them something. No one realizes the time and money that go into our projects. Never the less our pride to try to make it perfect. Peg

I embroidered a shirt and a pair of pants for my self last year is the only thing I have done sence 2000 I made a quilt with 301 frogs embroidered on it .

I can't help giving things away because I'd like others to be as thrilled with what the embroidery machine does as I am :) I made a bag for someone else and accidentally got to keep it though -I'm always surprised when people comment on it and wonder if that happens to others using the things we've made them.

Welllll, as we speak, I actually have two projects going for me but don't when I will finish...I have a couple going for my GD and hers come first..lol Oh, and the projects are an apron (which I really need) and a purse..will post when I get them done.

I made myself a bag for my holidays last month and embroided it because i wanted a real soft bag with nice soft handles and this was one way to get exactley what i wanted. but I nearly gave it away to friends we have in Lanzatote.I think in the 18 months Iv had my machines I have made three things for myself.

Well dear, last night i made a nice stew, as for my embroidery i seem to be making things for everyone but myself.

Ages ago when I was making Biscornus, I loved one so much that I decided to keep it for myself. It is just sitting on my shelf and has never been used. Guess it is just collecting dust.

Well, I made myself a shirt last winter. As for embroidering, I haven't made myself anything in years. And I realized that I kind of like it that way. I love the variety (most of the time) of doing for others. I'm not sure what I would do for myself

Hadn't made anything for myself for a long time but last month I made a jacket out of a sweatshirt. Nothing fancy but looks nice. Getting ready for the Farmers Market starting May 5th so been busy making things for it. Have a set of twin girls coming soon from my nephew and wife. He has a twin brother and I used to babysit them. Got to make something for them. Another niece expecting a boy so will be busy making baby things for them all. Never enough time in a day to do all I want to do.

I made some "beach pants"(pedal pushers)out of sear sucker fabric, hard to find and they are so cool and comfortable.It gets very hot here in the summer.Made some needle cases also.
