Question of the Day: I have learned alot about on-line shopping from you all, & I was wondering if anyone had any difficult stories that have had to deal with & how they solved the issues?

I haven't . Usually when something is not right the best thing thing to do is contact the seller. Most want to keep the customer happy and coming back. If it is a reputable dealer there really should be no problem. I placed an order on ebay for large quilt triangles and was sent a civil war collection when I ordered a 1930's collection. Sent off an email and the lady told me to keep it and 3 days later I had the right collection in the mail. And using paypal is a good idea if something goes wrong, they will take care of it for you. So I would say Happy Shopping, you should be fine

I always use Pay Pal and never have had any problems with that. But in the days before pay pal I ordered something from ebay. Sent a check and never received my order. I was real glad when Pay Pal arrived. Hugs, Mary

I haven't had any problems with the companies--just myself! I wanted to ordera gift for my Mother to be sent directly to her. Placed my order, clicked complete order and got a message that order wasn't complete so clicked it again, and again. Finally gave up for that day and decided to wait until the next day, tried again, same senaro so called the customer service and they said,<"Oh yes we have all 7 ready to send out, each packed seperately." they were very understanding and cut it back to one!!

I haven't but then I always buy from companies that I have heard good things about or know them. Couple weeks ago, ordered from Sears on line and had it within 5 days. If you always make sure to order from reputable companies I don't think you'll have any problems.

I have had several problems in the past and I have found that most USA and Chinese sellers are fantastic to deal with if there is a problem with the item when I receive it.
EG: I recently bought a pair of vintage, made in Germany, embroidery scissors, the kind shaped like a bird, they were in a beautiful leather pouch, hand painted with Pansies.
They were supposedly in Excellent condition and I paid a reasonable price for them, but when they arrived, not only did the blades not meet, but the finger grip was cracked all the way through.
I went back to look at the photo's in the listing again and realised the crack was visible, but I had thought it was part of the design of the bird's feet.
Anyway, I wrote to the seller to let him know about the damage, in a nice way of course, thinking perhaps he might give me a small refund because of the damage, but he wouldn't hear of it.
He insisted on refunding the WHOLE price, including the postage.
This is a true rarity on Ebay, but I have often received discounts when items received have been misrepresented.
My biggest problems have arisen when I have purchased items from one particular State in Australia, so now I won't even consider purchasing goods from anyone in that State.
By and large I have been extremely happy with 99% of my Ebay transactions, especially from the USA and China.

I find ebay to be very much a mixed bag. Depends totally on who you are buying from. Some sellers fell it is perfectly OK to misrepresent their item, largely because they are too damned lazy to inspect what they are selling for damage.
