April challenge
As no-one has posted a picture showing the most obvious use for the outline design (IMHO) I thought I would! I stitched the heirloom mini pin cushion design (thanks to Martine) first, then the octagonal outline. I stitched that again to stitch the lace down before I added another layer of fabric and stiched the final colour.

Great work Sue, I like your idea. The white fabric you have used is good, I like using fabric that is not smooth ie has some texture

I assumed the most likely choices would be pincushion, coaster, and enlarged a doily and potholder and loved to see other uses.
Having said that I love the obvious choice: the lace you added and your use of my square design on the octagonal shape resulted in a such a pretty pincushion!

I'm afraid I spoiled the effect rather by using white lace on the cream linen.

Beautiful with the lace. There have been a lot of creative challenge projects from your idea.

Very very pretty!! Actually to me the stop sign was the most obvious use - hehehehe! But, now your beautiful pin cushion is the most practical!!! (and tons prettier than a red stop sign!!) Hugs to you, Laura*
