Not free, but this is Jan's suggested site for the embroidery machine question. They have a 1" star too.
Maybe Embroidery Designs RN may have a free star. Will have to see if I can find a link for you. Have you checked in your machine software too. Sometimes there are simple designs like that in the machine or software gallery.

But Meg when we PM you we have to have "meganne" - no capitals, no gaps and of course not the inverted commas! Love Chris
