Is there a reason some of the designs are zipped instead of individual downloads? It is so much easier for viruses to hide inside a zipped file.

Multiple sizes can be included, as well as instructions for that particular design or project can be more easily included in zipped files. Set your virus software to scan upon download, and it should check before it ever gets opened.

Thank you for the reply and the information. My anti-virus software is great but nothing is perfect. I just had to make sure the designs were supposed to be zipped. I appreciate the quick reply.

Getting zipped files from Cute must be new because they never were zipped before.
Hopefully the 'avast' free security catches all the nasties.
I hate it when they say 'zipped folder is corrupt'.
It is also a big job to open all the zipped folders that I have.
Happy Stitching!

I was told that zipped files condense, therefore able to send more files at once. Sarah

My current software checks all incoming or downloaded files. I still have an occasional problem. I stopped going to sites outside the US and the problem is nearly gone. Live Laugh Download Stitch!

I had no idea that viruses are easier hidden in zip files--thanks! I learn new things from this site all the time, and it's great!

The anwser had been given :
1. Zipped files are condesed and so can you send more data in one file
2. But indeed a virus can be in it and some of the anti-virus programs can't check "inside" the zipped file. => check your program about this !
