This morning I got up and said "I want to create something.." But..

Question : Is there a trick/tip how to handle borders ? (see picture. Also what is the trick so that front and back satin border has the same length ? how do you handle the end ? (see below the word "cat" ?
-the back is just awfull. I think I should put an extra back on it to cover it ? Any tips ?

well it looks like you need to use a bias binding, or make your own. It might also work easier if you make a strip of fabric aprox 2 1/2 inches wide, press it in half lengthwise, then line of raw edges on the back, stitch it down all the way around, then fold it to the front and stitch it down again and poof perfect binding. Hope this helps. ;-)

okay, didn't think of that. First only sew it at the back and then at the front. (I just was following the explainations. But this is a good idea. Will give it a second try.

Als je kant-en-klaar biaisband gebruikt kun je het van te voren dubbelstrijken zodat de vouw netjes om je werkstuk past.

Een rechte strook werkt niet om de bochten, je zult een schuingeknipte strook moeten gebruiken. Succes.

I would do like BikerMomFL suggests - this is basically how you do quilt binding on a quilt and it seems to work well for things like this (although I sometimes use 2 or 2.25 wide so the border is a little slimmer). I tried the bias tape that you put around the edges and sew on and it always looked bad to me. AllPeopleQuilt (part of Better Homes and Gardens) has a nice technique and even has videos of how to do it.

thanks for this tip. I will try this too. Gonna make -try to make- a little table runner and want to finish it with a border too.
