I love combining reds and blues for the country look. This is one of my quick quilts for Uganda orphans.

Quick for me is large pieces, no hard to stitch angles, blocks that are easy to cut.... It really helps me to sew when everyone else is in bed! The red has white flocked hearts on it. This one was fun and mostly scraps.

Can you see why I had to put the heart applique where it is? Without it, it just had this blue rectangle in the middle of all red. I had to do something about that and it must made sense to use the border gingham as the applique. Sometimes I get a really lucky break.

It is wonderful!I love the blanketstitch edge or is that a special trim? LLDS!

It's actually blue and white gingham that give it that effect :-)

Such a lovely lot of "scraps"! I love the tiny white flowers all over the red, and the blue binding. A beautiful creation. xx Bev

My friend had that red flocked fabric in her "stash" and had never found a good use for it!
Well you certainly did! It's lovely.
