I have been working on Jeffs Quilt, it is all embroidery since Jan.2012.I am now on the last row i am working on it this week .Then i need to do the borders . I get bored then take a break and sew some fun things then back to the beast lol hugs

Not sure but I do quick ones (hopefully) and love all one color designs, lol. Lazy. Spent 6 hours out today with doc visits for each of us, got my rings inspected (also blew $150 on a ring I couldn't resist that will take till the end of the month to size!), Jo Ann's for the material that is gathered on top to make 2 quick Summer dresses (by the weekend I hope), McDonald's, home and baking food that my freezer defrosted when I forgot to plug it back in and embroidering canvas shopping bags with the farmer's market designs for my DILs. I am exhausted! Whew!

I spent 4 hours on one design. It was beautiful & very detailed.

I did some Easter baskets from emblibrary for my gd's. Each part was about 85 mins and 4 parts to it. Then the putting it together, well, it would be safe to say another hour. A lot of the ones I do from emblibrary are over 2 hrs and then with all the thread changes. I did an eagle and it was 2 1/2 hours. Hugs..Carol

When you do an embroidery design that takes hours do you ever make it a 2nd time?

I recently made 6 FSL bowls that the pieces were all 5x7. It took me about 6 hours each bowl. I was very grateful to have 2 machines going at once to finish them all.

I am currently busy with designs of which the stitching time is 2 hours each and then I need to add the time to switch thread (22 color changes). I have to do 16 of them and have done 9 so far - no 10 busy to stitch. Have a question too. This is the first one that I will not be able to stitch to the finish point. I have to leave it in the machine as I have to be off to work. Does any of you do this. I have never done it before.

Five hours for a 12 1/2 inch x 12 1/2 inch lace design for a large tablecloth. It had to be on my commercial machine because of the size but even then it could only stitch at 600 spm. It took 4 prewound bobbins for each square. Great question.

Hi! I sewed a FSL Doiley from Sue Box designs whith almost 100,000 stitches it had to be done in 2 halves as my 11000machine can only handle 50,000 stitches in its memory It took hours and hours on slow setting needless to say just did the one. Hugs Joyce

Last year I made 4 x 100,000 sts FSL doilies bought from Sue Box. The size of each doily is 200x200mm, each stitched at low speed, in one go. If I remember correctly, they took 8 hours each, but I don't remember exactly. I stitched three of them for gifts and one was meant to be for me, but I gave it away when I met one of my former colleagues, a lovely girl. Need I say that I didn't stitch a fifth one? I was sick of it, even though it's a beautiful doily.

Recently, I have embroidered a tablecloth - my first - and the central design has been embroidered in three hoopings, in my 300x360mm hoop. The first and the third part took 6 hours each to stitch, the central design was quicker, then there were 4 designs, one for each corner, and six small ones onto 6 napkins. My poor eyes became red and are still sensitive. I'm just happy to have finished.... :)

Yes, I have had marathon days and it is exhausting.
Its good to mix in a little activity to get the blood flowing.

It depends. I am at the moment making a wallhanging with crazy quilt blocks. 12 blocks in total. Each block took me at least 8 hours to digitise and 2 hours to make. So in total at least 120 hours. It will also a one off, no duplicates as it is art! Do I regret the time? NO the result will be stunning (One block to go). But items for charity etc need to be quick sew outs.

I've done a snakes and ladders and it took me 50 Hours to complete. Did not sell it keep it for grandchildren to play on. Hugs Marie

Martha's Christmas tree took me 4days it was lace and appliqué I did think it would never end,Its only about 8in's high, Lovely but never again.

you know I have to sasy that when I first started to embroider sewing up to maybe 30 minutes was ALOT! I think as my craft matures sew do I! I think this design took me along time & I will do more llike it just not to soon! Thanks Ladies for sharing with me It gives me faith in my ability to do it again! Hugs Loralye! For me, a two-hour stretch is a long time. Yet I have been known to spend many more hours than that at my sewing machine! I'm afraid to leave my machine alone to eat the thread, so two hours is about my limit at any one time.

I spent about 6 hours today on the cutwork doily I posted in projects. The (-section Sants picture I did for Christmas last year took about 24 hours total, But I sure didn't do it all at once. Somedays I would do 1 section other days maybe 2.
