I would like to know what kind of Stitch and Tear to use when I work with polar fleece and also the number of needle?

Good question! I have wondered that myself.

I use the same tear-away on everything,
but then I'm new to embroidery, so there is probably a right kind to use...
maybe use a double thickness on fleece
& I would use perhaps a size 80/90 needle.

I am busy stitching on polar fleece and normally uses a medium tear away. Found that a double layer is better. I also use solvy on top. Have not changed my needle.

Do you hoop the polar fleece? I tried to hoop but it stretches, so I tried to hoop the stitch and tear, then it pulled up my bottom thread. The only thing that really works, if I hoop a piece of fabric and then afterwards cut it away!

I hoop tear away and spray with adhesive the stick the fleece to it. Sometimes I baste it too (slippery stuff). I use solvy as a topper. I only ever use an 80/12 universal needle and it seems to work fine on the fleece too.

Although fleece has a high loft, it isn't very dense. I use a 11/12 needle...as I do for sewing it also. The "experts" say a 14 needle, but I really don't like to punch any bigger holes than I have to...and the 11/12 works without any problems. I use a sticky tear away on the bottom, not hooping the fleece, just the sticky, then a water solvable on top. Gently pull away the sticky when you are done.

Thank you for advice! I am sewing earflap caps and it looks so nice when there is a word embroided on the band in front - like 'le bébé' or baby of whatever. I really struggled to do the embroidery, but I will try your way - at least you are the sewdoctor! Kind regards!
