Hand Smocked size 1 baby dress.. I made this dress about 8 years ago for Mia the oldest of 3 sisters.. My daughter was moving and in going though their closet , found this dress was never worn by any of the girls and now they are to big(3'5'and 7).. this dress is smocked in the front and back and is fully lined.. I guess I will save it for great grandchildren as there will be no more Grand baby's from any of the kids..

Kathy, this is a lovely dress and you did a wonderful job with the hand smocking - it is such a shame that none of the 3 girls ever wore this. I do hope that you get the Grand baby to wear it - in the mean time - perhaps you have a doll that can wear it and have it on display. I have one that sits on a shelf and she wears different outfits each month.

This is so beautiful! Sad it was not worn. I would do as Shirlene suggested put it on doll or like you say save for a Great Grand. It is just to pretty to sit in a closet or trunk or box though.

Your hand stitching is excellent. I've tried my hand at smocking and know how much time you put into it.

Lovely work. It will be a while before there are great-grandchildren I'm assuming, so a Baby Reborn doll would fit the dress best- if you like them. Jan
