it keeps your needles and pins sharp, buy it at the pet supply store. it's called walnut litter. Also adds weight to your pincushion

The flower petal design is nice to stick different kinds of pins and needles in each petal to keep them separate.

Very nice indeed. Thanks for the education on walnut shells. They were selling them at the Houston Quilting show last year. Now I understand why.

Those look fantastic. I've been making several biscornu projects. I bet walnut shells would work very well in those. The sand is very difficult to use. I made one biscornu for myself and now my whole quilting club wants one. :)I am sure that they would like your designs as well!!
