This is an example of what using varigated thread in a simple design looks like. A question posed by "bowlds" asked for ways to use varigated thread.

I do not remember where I got the design. It was years ago. I am sure it was a free design. Sorry I cannot be more specific. I stitched it onto a kitchen hand towel.

Lovely work. Thanks for sharing. I like variegated thread for these open designs. It seems to enhance and beautify the design even more.***

This is a different one. I used thread from a different company. It is not as striking as the darker threads. However, I think it is feminine and I do like how it turned out.
I hope it shows up.

Nice butterfly. I especially love the waffle fabric it is on. I bought a bolt of that years ago and am still using it.

My MIL thought I had changed out the thread that many times. It is nice to have easy work look a lot harder than it is.

there can be such differences in varigated threads too. I really like the ones with varying lengths between color changes - it's a softer look. I must admit I had not thought to use them like this though but I will be now! Thanks somuch for sharing!!
