Oh Noah, you will be in my prayers for safety, that is very close to you, should you be getting out of there soon. Please don't stay in that smoke, it will make you sick.

I am visiting my son and daughter in law who live in Albuquerque N. Mexico and it is all hazy from the smoke from fires in southern N. Mexico. The news says if you have breathing problems you should stay inside. The winds are furious. Prayers for all who are affected by fires right now. Such a scary situation.

Will most certainly keep all in my prayers. We've had a few fires here in Central Florida lately and the smell can be awful when the wind blows the smoke in our direction. You certainly have a nice view from your place of the hillsides.

Just went through this about 2 weeks ago, ,98F and 3 fires and smokey. Luckily the fires where put down but the smell.It's rather nerve racking and fire season isn't even in full swing. Today we are 66 and by Thursday should be 90F. Just wacko weather. Will pray for your area.

I know what you are going through Carolyn. Australia has one of the worst bushfire records in the world. I will certainly pray for the safety of your community and the firefighters and co-ordinators of your town. Hope you and John are o.k. and not suffering with smoke inhalation. Please keep safe. I hope by now the danger has passed and everyone is safe as I noticed this was posted over 8 hours ago
But I'm still sending prayers and Angels to watch over your village and keep everyone safe from harm.

Do you have an escape plan if you need to leave in a hurry, remember your life is worth more than your goods and chattels.
In case you should be evacuated, you should have your most prized possessions packed in your car with the keys in the ignition and the car facing the direction you need to go.

If you intend to stay and fight you should have your garden hose attached to the taps, in front and back of your house and unravel the hose, full length, across both yards.
You should plug your gutter pipes (any old rag will do this) from the roof and fill your guttering with water.
Then make sure you have something like a large scarf to be able to wet and tie across your nose and mouth like a kerchief and a hat you can wet and put on your head for protection. Good solid shoes and no loose clothing.

You probably know all this if you live in a bushfire zone as we do, and preparing all of the above will help keep you from worrying so much as you are actually doing something to protect you and yours.

I will be thinking of you. Please let us know when the danger has passed, if and when you can.

Prayers are going up. We faced this last year in central Texas, with the fires coming within 5 miles of our home. We were spared, but many lost their homes. The good (if you can say it that way) is that only 2 lives were lost, but almost 1600 homes perished. Please stay safe. Hugs. Nan W
