I used the same pattern but this is done with freezer paper 1. with a large sheet of paper draw straight line going in any way ( large or small size shape) NO INTERSECTIONS or cross lines stager these lines apart then number them 123 etc. and mark this you master then place your freezer paper over this and copy it number and all. you will cut out the freezer paper shapes Iron them to your fabric with you rotary cutter and ruler cut these out at the time you cut you will now add you 1/4 in seam follow the master to get you shapes back together. the will be backward to your master in you have pressed them on the wrong side, now add your dectorive stitches to this I use a embroidery thread but in a heavier wt. make you lamp pattern and cut it from this crazy shpes you have just sewn together. enjoy I hope this helps let me know if you need more help or don't understand something I may have not made clear.

oh bye the way I added black bias to the top and bottom on this one also I have done one I use just a Christmas.
