I but my tear-away & cut-away at Walmart. They quit carrying the wash-away at our store so I get it from my local embroidery shop.

I have been getting mine at JoAnn's fabric department, with a coupon! I have had no problems and they have all they types that I like except for the peal and stick for t-shirts.

I just bought a big roll of the tear-away from WorldWeidner (12" x 50 yd) it is more heavy-weight than the Floriani I had been using but it is much less expensive to use too (and seems to work just fine for all my ITH things). I also use Sovly Stiffy - which is a very crisp clean tear-away (I get that at Joann with a coupon) for my smaller hoop projects. I have had fine service from WorldWeidner (bought from them several time). Good luck and have FUN!

Thanks for all your suggestions. I found a 10" x 100 yard roll medium weight tear-away (sold by ThreadArt) on Amazon for $19.99. It was cheaper on the Thread Art site itself, but shipping and tax brought it up higher than Amazon. Hope I made a good purchase!

MUST we use stabelizer? I've used buckrum, used in sewing to stiffen collars and cuffs, for many projects and my son brought me a 1 meter x 25 meter roll for like $20.!! I just cut with a scissor close to the finished stitches and it works well.

I have bought from designs by sick. Their prices are great, especially if you wait for a sale, and the stabilizer has all been good quality. Even with postage to NZ, it is better than I can get here, and some types that I can't even get here.

I used to us the Pellon Stitch and Tear that I bought by the bolt with a coupon at Joann's. But now I use Floriani and it is wonderful. It has shorter fibers so it tears away cleanly and much easier.

I just bought a Tear and Wash Tearaway Backing from Emstore. It was 20"x25yds for $10 on sale from the Embroidery Store. I've never used it before. Didn't know there was such a thing. It's a tearaway that washes away.
