The fabric is donated by different members, so I get surprised. They usually send both pieces, top and back, so I can match my emb threads.

You may do this at your church. It is a joint project.Someone/anyone buys fabric.2 of us emb, although now it is just me.The quilts are just a whole front and whole back, no piecing, with batting in between. The edges are hemmed on machine, by any of the sewing members. Then DMC floss is inserted through all layers, randomly, and left UNTIED. It is then taken to church, and passed around the Sunday School classes. Each person TIES the floss about 3 times while saying a prayer for the person, whose name and illness is pinned on a piece of paper, to the quilt. Then it is delivered to the person, by someone from church.

a piece of paper, with their illness. As each one passes it , they pray for the person, as they TIE, usually 3 knots with the floss. It makes the reciever feel better, knowing that so many prayed for them, and this was made in love for him/her.
