well ladies I goofed up there was 20,000 people there last year not 8000! Sew I realize that my INVENTORY is limited but I am only there really to help out my daughter with her booth! Sew any last minute tips you would like to share would be greatly appreciated! Meanwhile I will continue to sew as much as I can!

Take a picture album with you showing what you can do. Save one that they can touch and see your skills and then let them order one in the color they like best. Have them pay half? down to cover the material cost. Get good info from them and if they decide they don't want the one they ordered you can sell it to someone else later.

Great ideas from "Rescueer". I always like to see someone's work and having an album or even better samples of one's work is fantastic. I hope the show goes well and that you will be able to rest up a bit. You might then be able to take time out to go and have a massage! It will do wonders for your back and neck. Make sure you have plenty(LOTS) of business cards made up!!! You would probably get even more orders that way. Good Luck!!!

Enjoy time with your daughter first - that is the great part of doing shows with my mom. Agree with the other suggestions - have samples to show, cards to give out, and take orders (with a down payment - I ask for half on items that I take orders for).

Have lots of samples and pictures...and show your different styles of lettering. People will order anything personalized with grandkids or pets names and now days they just can't buy ready made with the names people are choosing. I've done a lot of blankets with unusual names.

People thet go to this type of shows are already hyped up and ready to spend what money they can afford. They usually look for items that they like to collect or things for their good friends and family after they purchase "their special item"! I even ordered a custom made wood box to put beside the fireplace and a wood box that had a design that matched to wood box. It had a hinged lid on it and you put your trash can inside to keep the trash can from being seen. They were very expensive but I still use both of them today almost 20 yrs later however, they were never used for what they were made for. The wood box was used to keep the dog's toys in and the the other has an airtight dry dogfood container sitting inside of it instead of a trash can.

For the last 35 yrs, I have been involved in canine rescue. I have had a many as 15 at a time and alot were house dogs but even the big dogs would come inside to play sometimes. I actually had over 20 one time but the extra was a new litter of puppies. Mom was already pregnant when I got her.
The main thing is to have as many different types of crafts that you do either made up or pictures of what can do. Make sample items on the things that you do not want to do in quanity until you have a seel for it. Make sure you get a deposit/name/address/phone number and be ready to do the same for the customer so they will not mind leaving a deposit. I had cards made whan I was in the craft business. NEVER put names on an ordered item unless you let the customer know that once it is personalized, you can not sell it to someone else so if it is not picked up you can not refund the deposit.
and phone no. and make some business cards so you can give it to the customer. Be careful about personalizing items with odd or different names that have not been paid for ahead of time. Have fun!!! Jope you sell alot!

Watch your money, have a fanny pack or someone just in charge of the cash flow. There are some dishonest people in the world . Be careful and have fun.

Fanny pack is very good for the money - close to you so less likely to be any issues. If you don't have a fanny pack bottoms with lots of pockets works too.
Bring change - most of my things were at round dollars so I took lots of $1 and $5. This year will have things at quarter intervals so will have to take that too.
If outside - be sure to bring sunscreen (if you are where it is sunny) - I forgot the time we did an outside one and was sorry.

hey thats good info too I was not thinking of bring water because not sure where potty's are? I guess the fanny pack is pretty important as it been mentioned alot? We have a cash box is that bad?
I was going to bring wipes too thats a good idea I was going to bring them for after lunch but now I know to bring a "few more"

I have been told about the photo album but unfortunately I don't really have time to do this If it goes well this weekend I will have to consider this Thanks Ladies I am a bit nervous I don't really fair to well in big crowds, my daughter assures me that they will be "OUTSIDE" of our tent & only a few inside Sew we will see how it goes!
